FLOW Parents Defending Education is a local community group whose mission is to support Quality Education, Fairness, Freedom of Choice and Students Rights in the Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Wyckoff school district.
We believe in a “Pro-human” approach to teaching Diversity Equity and Inclusion lessons to our students. When we see each other as one human race, we are united in all aspects of our lives. If we continue to adopt the “woke” orthodoxy, that requires us to identify ourselves and each other based on immutable characteristics like skin color, gender and sexual orientation, it will diminish our compassionate humanity and creates the very problem it seeks to resolve.
Progressive “Woke” ideology is a personal belief. Its concepts are not based on facts; they are subjective opinions and a way of looking at the world that removes a person’s individuality and personal accountability. Parents, grandparents and other trusted family members are uniquely equipped to teach children their own family values and morals.
WHAT WE STAND FOR:
- We advocate for the individual rights of ALL students.
- We advocate for Parental Rights.
- We support a pro-human compassionate opposition to intolerance and racism rooted in dignity and our shared humanity.
- We believe in well-balanced, challenging educational models that focus on individual development and support.
- We support education and curricula that do not push ideology or “woke” concepts.
- We believe schools should focus on academics, not activism.
- We believe that racism, sexual orientation and gender concepts are moral constructs that should be taught in the home.
- We support ALL members of the human race and find no reason to categorize people by sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic.
- We believe in medical freedom. All people, students and teacher’s alike, should have a choice about their medical treatments and not be coerced or bullied if they don’t comply.
When we see each other as one human race, we embrace and accept each other completely with love, compassion, kindness, and respect for each other’s beliefs. So we’re working hard to have our public schools focus on quality, fact-based academia that promotes compassion and the individual rights and freedom of the Human Race.
